A film crew from Call of the Loon Productions spent time in Little Falls on Wednesday to film and photograph two actors for an upcoming marketing campaign celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal next year.

Jean Mackay, Deputy Director for the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor, said, “We are excited to share with a lot of people what the Canal is like today. What kind of opportunities there are to enjoy it and get out and explore it.”

She said that photos and videos are such a good way to convey the beauty, history, and recreational opportunities that exist along the waterway.

“We hired Call of the Loon Productions to work with us to put together some video for the Bicentennial,” she stated.

Mackay said they had secured funding for the work through the Market New York Program. “These photos and videos that we’re putting together will be part of a toolkit. It’s not just that the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor will be able to use them, but that sites along the canal, communities, and organizations will be able to sign up and use the toolkit.”

She said the material would work for meetings and social media. “The photos and videos taken in Little Falls will become part of this larger toolkit.”
